Helene’s ending is not as bad as I initially expected based on spoilers. The Helene/Harper stuff is slightly more tasteful but only barely because tbh Helene and Harper have a more mature relationship compared to Laia trying to seduce Elias back into his “human” emotions with mangoes and pestering. There is just a lot of weird messaging about romantic and sexual love and equating it with happiness and/or humanity in both the Helene/Harper and Elias/Laia relationships. Uhuh I mean sucks for Helene but Sabaa, you had all the control in this so you didn’t even have to do this at all. Yes, I’m weak for his type but what is new?Īnd while Helene is the only main character who isn’t completely full of brainrot at this point, I know Sabaa only writes Helene to make her suffer and be like “isn’t it sad that she has no love in her life?”. The only character worth reading about is Musa, and he isn’t even a main character. Survival’s great and all, especially when you have leather armor, good friends and home-brewed beer, but there’s something Cassie must do besides survive: tell Adrian she still loves him. This, coupled with Adrian’s distant voice on Safe Zone Radio and, of course, the living dead, threaten to put Cassie right back into the funk she just dragged herself out of. And it’s a lot farther than she’d anticipated. When the two attract a threat as deadly as the undead to their safe haven, Cassie’s forced to see how far she’ll go to protect those she loves. This is difficult enough, but Cassie’s tag along ex-boyfriend and her friend’s bratty sister have a knack for making everything, even the apocalypse, more unpleasant. Rectifying her mistakes has to wait, however, because Cassie and her friends have just enough time to escape Brooklyn for her parents’ cabin before Bornavirus LX turns them into zombies, too. After all, she’s been on a self-imposed losing streak since her survivalist parents died: she’s stopped painting, broken off her engagement to Adrian and dated a real jerk. Several floors up, Ailean dived right through the window, bracing his human body for impact and rolling when he felt the ground beneath him. Even if you feel their breath on your neck, you never look back. He’d done this enough times in his life to know you never stop and you never look back. He heard the guards coming into the room, but he didn’t waste time looking over his shoulder to see how close they were or bid good-bye to the damsel he’d had his full of the night before. Unfortunately, town guards and one blindingly angry father waited for him right outside that door, so he quickly turned and charged hard for the open window. “You whore!” Ailean the Wicked, veteran Battle Dragon of the Dragon Queen’s Armies, third-born son of Afton the Hermit, and one of the many from the Cadwaladr Clan, leapt naked and wet from the tub and made a mad dash for the door. how superintelligent AI might lead to a dangerous arms race, to philosophy, i.e. Understanding the implications of superintelligence touches a broad set of disciplines such as political science, i.e. Today, though, the AI renaissance we’ve been experiencing has spurred a desire to understand and plan for a possible future with superintelligent machines. As Bostrom points out at the beginning of our talk, there were hardly any resources being funneled into studying the effects of AGI at the beginning of his career.
